Katerina Hoey, Partner

Katerina Hoey is a Chartered Architect with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry in the UK and overseas. Also, she holds an MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution from King’s College London.

While practising as an architect, Katerina worked in the UK with a variety of private clients and developers in high value commercial and private residential projects including work with historic buildings. In the Middle East she worked with a variety of private and commercial clients. She was also involved in a number of urban regeneration projects in downtown Beirut, including master planning of specific key areas, as well as with the design and management of residential and commercial projects in Lebanon, Qatar and Dubai.

Since 2014, Katerina has been instructed as an expert witness on over 80 matters in the UK and Middle East and has been cross examined on her evidence in the High Court and in domestic arbitration. She has also been appointed as a single Joint Expert. Many of these instructions have concerned fire safety and regulatory compliance issues but she has also acted in matters relating to design defects, professional negligence, insurance and warranties, building defects, project management, contract administration and numerous technical issues.

Katerina has been instructed on behalf of Clients, Employers, Architects, Contractors and Subcontractors by a wide range of instructing solicitors. She has also been instructed directly by first tier Contractors.
