Experience
Between us we have designed and run small residential commissions for private clients, substantial projects in the sectors of education, retail, commercial offices and healthcare facilities, and also been involved in large infrastructure developments.
As expert witnesses we regularly provide Expert Evidence and Opinion about the performance of architects in relation to design and contractors in relation to workmanship and materials.
We have acted in disputes ranging from small residential extensions to nationally important infrastructure projects with government clients and international joint venture contractors.
We have experience of all of the forums in which construction disputes are commonly resolved: the High Court, International and domestic arbitration tribunals, adjudication, mediation and expert determination.
Working with us
The Studio is small; four partners and a handful of associates. The partners have known each other, and worked together, for a dozen years or more and our associates have worked with us for at least six years.
We know each other well, understand what each of us brings to the Studio and enjoy the stimulation and discussion of issues that working together brings.
Whilst we expect the Studio to grow to enable us to resource larger instructions, we have no ambition to become a global corporate entity. We prefer to avoid the commercial imperatives that inevitably underpin such ambitions and to concentrate instead on providing robust and reliable opinion and developing good professional relationships with those instructing us and working alongside us.
Our office, at the centre of Fleet Street puts us at the very heart of legal London; no more than a few steps away from the Royal Courts of Justice and the four Inns of Court and close to our instructing solicitors in the City, Mid-Town and the West End. It also puts us in easy reach of trains to all points and to all the London airports when work needs us to travel.
